Upcoming Service Events
Every June, the Columbia Arts Council hosts LAKEFEST, a multi-day art festival at the lake Kittamaqundi. This event needs a lot of volunteers to run smoothly. More information can be found here.
Please note the eligibility requirements for volunteers:
- All volunteers 16 and older are eligible
- Volunteers age 14-15 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian
- all volunteers must complete a short training before volunteering. This training will be online or in person in the weeks leading up to the event.
Books in Bloom May 2024, Saturday, May 11th, 2024
Books in Bloom is an exciting and fabulously well-organized literary event. It is free event open to the public. More information can be found here.
Event Time: 11:30am – 5:00pm
Volunteer Arrival Time: 9:15am
Volunteer Departure Time: 5:30-6:00pm

Volunteers will be responsible for greeting guests, assisting with kids crafts and giveaways, assisting Busboys and Poets with popup bookstore, general assistance throughout the festival. Please note that volunteers are asked to stay for the entire event.

Columbia Association Teens
Being a part of CA Teens is an opportunity to connect with your peers from all around the city. We volunteer every Monday to play games and tutor middle school students at the Supreme Sports Club gym. We also work to plan events to fund raise for local organizations. Join us! Columbia Community Care Association
Volunteer tasks include "shopping" for specific families in need. You will receive a list with the family's name and address, along with a list of items they requested. You will go to the old Columbia Flyer building, near the mall, to gather up requested items and deliver the groceries to the families (you may request to shop for multiple families in one day).
